Laser Spectroscopy Group
The group was founded in 1975 by Prof. Mihail Lucian Pascu , within the Institute of Physics – Bucharest (IFB) which belonged to the Romanian Academy of Sciences.
It has as research objectives modern spectroscopy studies using coherent and incoherent optical sources to investigate atoms, simple(diatomic) and complex molecules such as pollutants, bio-molecules, gas and liquid laser active media, optical components. The main characteristics of the group is the approach of multidisciplinary studies using optics and optical spectroscopy methods to investigate fields such as : pollution control, laser equipment to monitor polutants in air, water and soil, laser biomedicine, basic spectroscopy research.
